Being in London definitely has its perks. I love just being able to get up one day to the next and be bombarded with creative opportunities on your doorstep. On my day off this week I took the chance to visit 'Here we are', Burberry's latest exhibition event at Old Sessions House. - The venue itself was enough reason to go, the 18th Century grade two listed building had three floors and eighteen rooms, all bursting with Burberry, Burberry, Burberry. Who could say no? The exhibition celebrated a strand of British photography loved by Christopher Bailey, Chief creative officer and President of Burberry. The photographs highlighted the varied tribes and classes that filled Britain and provided a real portrayal of British life. Whether that be bizarre, boring, beautiful or just not so. The exhibition also featured Burberry's, ready to wear, September Collection. The mannequins were kitted out in baseball caps, coats, bags, shirts and of course Burberry's signature camel, black and red tartan. The collection ran from sports-luxe to punk to aristacratsy, your eyes just didn't know where to look - well mine tended to marvel at the extravagant jewelled brooches and necklaces. The whole exhibition oozed heritage, authenticity and fun. The interconnecting rooms, high ceilings and contrasting neon lighting easily could've kept me there for hours upon hours, maybe even days. It's so good being able to experience the fashion industry on another level, face to face, in arms reach. Burberry always hits the mark when it comes to creating an exciting, collaborative and aspirational experience where you can't help but feel as though you're a part of it. I could not recommend more.
