UPPING MY ORGANISATION GAME

Being at Man About Town has taught me a few things... but my biggest realisation has been the importance of organisation. While I've never been the unorganised-kind and I like to think I'm quite punctual and up to date with everything going on in my life, or at least I try to be, being on placement has definitely challenged that. You're no longer responsible for just yourself but a whole other load of things that are vital in keeping the magazine on schedule. For every shoot I've been responsible for calling in and requesting looks from fashion houses and PR Agencies, this means keeping a log of requested pieces, confirmed pieces and delivered pieces. When collections of looks arrive I've learnt the best way to keep track of them all is to list and describe each product and who sent them, otherwise you just end up in a muddled mess. The hard part is then making sure all items chosen for styling are taken to location and returned in one piece - again this is when your list becomes a god send! At first the thought of being responsible for a bag full of crazily priced designer jackets that weren't yours was pretty damn scary. But now I'm an organised pro... who also gets everything returned on time!
